Megan: Someday

Melrae

This is a possible future for Megan and The Guys it by no means is a part of my series -OK I don’t know if one unfinished story and two or three plots are a series but what the hell-

Friday night-

Cascade, Washington

"Hey watch the hair Blair. It took three hours of more styling than I care to do on regular basis so I could wear it down and not get you two arrested for endangering a child. As it is I’ll still get carded at every place." Teased the small figure of Megan dressed tonight in a knee length silver dress with a black belt and her ever-present clear crystal necklace. "So where do we go to first?"

Blair answered. "There is this club that some of the kids on campus have been going on about."

"How loud is it Chief" the third person one Jim Ellison asked. Jim had his doubts as to whether or not he should be here.

--Don’t worry Jim,-- a soft velvet voice within his mind told him --Megan has planned ahead for this don’t spoil this for her-- the voice begged. Jim was used to this voice as much as one can be after being with one FBI Agent Megan Davison for one year.

Jim spent a moment reminiscing over the last year and everything that had happened from those psychos who kidnapped him and Meg and made Meg fight to keep Jim safe. Jim allowed himself a small smile remembering Blair coming in with Simon and Skinner protecting him. The fact that Blair was unusually receptive telepathically to both Meg and that necklace of Megs, well they both were receptive to that necklace it helping him or Blair find Meg and whichever one of them was kidnapped with her. Always it was that necklace at helped keep doubts at bay calming you down helping you to find Megan knowing what to say.

--If after 350 years I can’t help someone calm down what use am I--

Jim framed a response in his mind the way Meg taught him to so he didn’t look ready for the funny farm.

*listening in again that’s a bad habit.*

--I know but I feel like remembering as well. The children want to party I’m too old for that.--

*that and the fact that you have no body*

--Impertinent child behave now OK-- the sprit scolded

*yes ma’am* Jim thought sitting down on the sofa while Blair finished getting ready

Meg ‘knowing’ who Jim was talking to walked over to sit next to him.

"Um Jim here these should make the clubs easier for you Happy One Year of Working Together." Meg placed a light kiss on Jim’s cheek before handing him a small box. Jim opened the box and found two earplugs "I thought that we may wind up going to some pretty loud clubs I just didn’t want you to get overloaded." Megan said unusually shy. Jim’s heart twisted remembering the time that the damned shadow government had planed for him and Megan to get involved so they could get some sort of super kid combining his and Megs special talents just the idea of a child like that was a scary thought but for them to actually have wanted to get involved. Just as well they found the vials of the pheromones and had a long talk about how they could only be friends they both knew that was all they could ever be.

Jim turned to look at Meg "Reading my thoughts Meg?" Jim joked with a hint of sadness for what can’t be. Once you got past her attitude she really was a sweet person kind and caring remembering as well the times she would fix him and Blair up before her self or ignoring her own injuries in favor of getting the bad guy. Holding herself together by telekinesis alone sometimes.

Megan got up from the sofa smiling "You know that I don’t do that Jim. I’m going to see if Blair needs any help and leave you two alone."

"Don’t hurt him Meg OK." Jim told her smiling

Megan’s face went somber "I never could do that Jim never." She said tears welling.

Jim swore softly to himself it was just a couple of weeks ago that ‘they’ had tried to poison Meg with chemicals in her water if Jim hadn’t phoned Skinner to tell him of that fact. They would have never known . Skinner had told Jim what to look for. Jim had left Blair in Megs apartment to check her water only Megan had returned early so doped up that she though that Blair was one of the MIBs. That was a close one. Jim had ran up the stairs to find Megan holding a gun on Blair one look in her face told Jim that she would shoot. Only some fast talking from Jim, Blair and Meg’s necklace was able to break through later Blair said that he could sense the darkness totally around Megan not like usual with a guard of light in the center. Blair had also said that he didn’t think that Megan would have come around, Blair also confessed what happened to Megan in that warehouse on their first case. Blair was also scared for Megan that time as he had first hand experience with what Megan would have become if she failed on that first case. Now Blair understood all too well. Blair had almost paid with his life, then.

Jim listened to Blair getting ready and decided he would be there for a while got up from the sofa and went to Meg. "what is it, Kid, look I’m sorry for reminding you of that it was silly of me." Jim smiled he was the only person who could call her kid and get away with it. When one of the other officers tried to give Megan a hard time about being there in Major Crimes, Megan embarked on such a subtle campaign of making that officers life hell. Not even Simon knew Megan was behind it. Jim put his hands on Megan’s shoulders blocking his thoughts from her just letting her feel his sorrow that he had reminded her of that experience.

"Jim," Megan looked at him like a lost waif "could I just get a big bear hug? I really feel low"

"Sure Megs" Jim engulfed her in his arms "how’s that?"

"Feels good. You know my dad never touched me not at all, mom yea once in a while I asked once why and they said that they didn’t want to overload me. Megan stood there taking in the quiet strength of her friend. Her friend. If someone had told her a year ago, that she would be friends with him she would’ve laughed at them. At first Megan hadn’t wanted to trust the former Covert Ops man but now, she wouldn’t have it any other way. These two men were now entwined with in her own destiny in ways she couldn’t describe.
