Just as Mulder sat down on his sofa he heard
someone knocking on the door. Getting up and reaching for his gun before he opened the
door. He was a bit surprised when he saw Megan in the doorway smiling with a childlike
innocence that he knew she was planning something. "What's up, Davison? You're too
happy to be in trouble."
Megan giggled, "Aren't you going to invite me in and find out?"
"I don't know. Scully made me promise to stay out of trouble. I'd really like to do
that _this_ year." Mulder said as he put his arm across the door blocking it.
Megan still smiling gently pushed Mulder inside and walked over to his closet and grabbed
a suitcase. With the suitcase in hand she walked into Mulder's bedroom.
Megan stopped at the threshold of the room. "Mulder, why do I think that the truth
isn't out there, that it's in here?"
"Ha ha very funny Davison." Mulder deadpanned. "Just what are you up
to?" Mulder asked.
Megan sighed, "Is it too much to ask that you just go along and trust me?"
"You know my motto, Trust no one."
"I thought it was Trust no one, except Scully. Did I miss the revision?"
Mulder looked down at the floor, "no you didn't."
"Mulder I don't want you to be alone right now OK. You're protective of both Scully
and me. Now let me return the favor OK?"
"OK I'm gonna blame you for any trouble that I get into with Scully over this you do
know that right?"
"Of course but since it's just an innocent gathering of friends. What could go
wrong?" Megan said
Mulder laughed, "Davison, I'm surprised that something doesn't happen when you use
the word innocent like that."
Megan just gave Mulder her version of Scully's 'look', "Let me get you packed OK. If
I remember correctly clean clothes are on the bed right?" At Mulder's nod Megan
smiled impishly and clothes began to fly around the room. Dirty clothes were placed in a
hamper and the clean clothes were put in the dressers and closet. Some clothes flew into
Mulder's suitcase. "I hope you don't mind but we have to be at the airport
soon."
