"I am Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and this is my Padawan Learner Obi-Wan. We are grateful for the hospitality offered to us by Colonel O'Neill and his team."
For the next two hours General Hammond, SG1 and the Jedi traded information back and forth. The Jedi told SG1 about some of the history of the Republic and the Jedi. While SG1 and Hammond gave information about the Goa'uld that they could, without comprising their other allies.
"Well it's getting late here I'm sure you would like to eat and get some rest. We can continue this in the morning. SG1 you are to escort our guests around until further notice. Also Colonel O'Neill has something to discuss with the rest of you." General Hammond said knowing that O'Neill would delay telling his team about his new job until after this mission.
"We appreciate your hospitably, however we would like to return home as soon as possible. We have duties there that we can't ignore." Qui-Gon was worried that this Selket would indeed be a great threat to the Republic at large and the Jedi especially.
"If it's safe to do so, we will. We don't want to send you back to a hostile situation. That would be suicide." Hammond said unwilling to sacrifice their guests to any Goa'uld or compromise the security of the SGC.
"We could try to access the Stargate on Coruscant at the Jedi Temple. That is if you guys could pick out it's position on our star maps, and if the coordinates are in the computer." Sam offered. From what she had seen of the two Jedi she knew they held duty above all and in their shoes she would be trying to get back home as soon as possible too.
"That shouldn't be a problem as long as your charts are detailed enough. Now about our light sabers may we have them back now?" Qui-Gon asked.
"We'd like our scientists to take a look at them. The technology might be valuable to us."
"Unless you have the reflexes of a Jedi a light saber is as much a danger in battle to the wielder as it is to the foe. It is doubtful that your scientists could learn much of use." Obi-Wan said.
"You'd be surprised at what we don't know technologically speaking." Daniel said.
"Yeah, even though we go out and fight battles against superior forces. Winning at that. We still mainly use projectile weapons. While being fired upon by energy weapons." Jack said.
"Light sabers are attuned to the wielder and the balance is delicate. You could destroy the light saber and anyone around you if you indiscriminately probed within the circuits. We could discuss the theory with your scientists however any dissection of our light sabers will not be permitted." Qui-Gon said firmly.
"I'm looking forward to our discussions tomorrow. Dismissed." Hammond said and left the room.
The group left the briefing room Sam and Teal'c went to check on a room for Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan while the rest of the group headed to the Mess Hall where Daniel basically commandeered the small stove in the back corner installed for the SG teams to use when the mess hall was closed.
"Master, I wonder why no one ever thought about making a dish like this in the Republic? It's much like a sandwich. Each person can customize it to their liking and it can be a perfectly balanced meal in itself. Much better than field rations." Obi-Wan said as he discovered the joy of pizza.
"I'm not sure Padawan. Maybe you could find out how they are made and introduce it to the Temple chefs." Qui-Gon said.
Sam and Teal'c came into the Mess Hall, "Well, we got you guys a room for now. It's on our level so it's a two man room you'll have to share. The other rooms on the guest level are reserved, SG8 is bringing back some people tomorrow."
"Sam it's no problem, Obi-Wan and I shared quarters on Trellis. By two man room you do mean there are two beds right?" Qui-Gon said jokingly.
"Of course there are. I meant that you will be in normal troop quarters, even if they are officer quarters. The guest rooms are a bit nicer." Sam explained before leading the way to the Jedi's temporary quarters.
