"So Daniel, any idea why there isn't anything around this gate? We've spent three days looking." Jack asked leaning back in his chair in the cabin.

 "Well the only reason I can think of is this gate is so old that only the Gate builders had access to it and any sign left by them has just been destroyed by time."

 "Maybe we should ask Qui-Gon about this area's history. He might have some records some where or know where they'd be stored."  Sam added.

 "Well they've got to be holding something back, because I haven't seen any signs of a written language even though I've overheard Obi-Wan complain to Qui-Gon about some of the lessons he's had to learn." Daniel said, "Why would they downplay something like that?"

 "If they knew more than they are saying about the Stargate it is possible that if the Goa'uld came through they would disregard this planet as too primitive with too few people to pose any threat." Teal'c offered his theory.

 "Well then campers lets go talk to our hosts. I think it's time we pushed for going to talk to these elders." Jack said suiting action to words and headed out towards the south portion of the beach.

 The SG1 team hiked closer to the portion of the beach that Obi-Wan had told Teal'c he and Qui-Gon would be at. They began to hear a crackling hissing sound Jack motioned for  the team to low crawl to the top of the small grass covered dune were they saw something they didn't expect to see.

 Bathed in the full sunlight of this planet with the ocean waves a fitting backdrop. They saw their hosts dueling with laser swords, clad only in tight, muscle hugging, translucent, might as well not be there, white shorts.

 "Holy Hanna, I didn't know Qui-Gon was hiding _that_ under those clothes he wore." Sam drooled breathing a bit faster.

 "I hear you Sam. How can they practice whatever it is in just those, tight, body hugging shorts. Aren't they worried about slicing something important off?" Daniel said breathing through his mouth trying to get more oxygen into his lungs.

 "DanielJackson, they appear to have a great mastery over their weapons. They are exerting great control over each lunge and thrust." Teal'c said looking as innocent as the Jaffa could before wiping the drool off of Sam's chin.

 Jack sighed as he closed Daniel's jaw, "Oh for crying out loud! Can you kids keep the hormones in check." The rest the team gasped and whimpered, Jack turned to see that Obi-Wan had managed to get behind Qui-Gon and had his laser sword just centimeters from Qui-Gon's shorts, when the younger man noticed the team staring at them.

 "Master, we've got company." He said to Qui-Gon. The two men quickly put their clothes back on (much to SG1's disappointment), and lead the way back to the cabin.

 "Okay just what was that little display on the beach?" Jack demanded.

 "We were having lightsaber practice." Qui-Gon explained.

 "So, you use these lightsabers to defend yourselves. What if you are attacked by some sort of projection weapon." Daniel asked.

 "We deflect it with the lightsaber." Obi-Wan said simply.

  "How? No ones reflexes are that fast." Sam said.

 "We are Jedi Knights. We have trained since early childhood in the use of the Force. Through it our reflexes are speeded." Qui-Gon said.

 "What's the Force?" Daniel queried.

 "It's an energy that flows around and through every living thing. A Jedi can harness and utilize it to help others. We are trained in many areas, mostly though our skills in arbitration are used. The Jedi have been the keepers of peace in the Republic for over a thousand generations." Qui-Gon said giving the basic speech on the Jedi, and the Force.

 "How long have you been watching this Stargate. The Jedi I mean." Sam said.

 "Almost as long as the order has been in existence. However a great war a thousand years ago led to the destruction of much of the history of the Stargate. To the point that no one really knew it was a transportation device. Except in unfounded rumors." Qui-Gon said.

 "Well you must have believed those rumors since you didn't seem all that startled to see us coming through the 'Gate." Jack said.

 "Only because I had a vision Jack. In which our primary temple was attacked and destroyed by an army wearing some sort of scorpion type armor. Our Great Hall has a Stargate in it. The army came through killing or wounding as many as it could and then a woman came through she wore a scorpion headdress." Obi-Wan said the vision still disturbing to him even though months had passed. "all the solders carried weapons like Teal'c does."

 "Selket." Teal'c said. "She was banished by the system lords. I accompanied Apophis when the system lords passed judgment."

 "What do you have to do to get kicked out of the clubhouse with that group Teal'c?" Jack asked.
