"Daniel, do you have the probe data?" Jack asked as he entered the mission briefing room and sat down across from the blond anthropologist/linguist.
"Right here, it just came through." Daniel dimmed the lights in the room and activated the VCR. "J3X 472 this is one of the addresses we have from when you had the Ancients' knowledge base in your head, Jack." The younger man watched Jack's expression carefully not knowing if his team leader was ready to face any information from that experience.
Daniel knew the loss of communication Jack suffered as the knowledge infected his mind hurt him greatly. The colonel had felt confused and isolated as the knowledge rewrote his communication centers. It was a hard time for the SG1 team. Afterwards the team took General Hammond's advice and stood down for a few days that were spent at Jack's house. The four of them just reaffirming their team bond, talking, holding Jack through residual nightmares, playing cards when he refused to sleep. Jack tried to show them the galaxy that he had visited Jack also filled them in greater detail about Thor's race, the stuff that couldn't translate into the written word. Inflections that let the team know how affected he was by the entire experience.
"It's okay Daniel. Go ahead." Jack said softly.
"Well, it doesn't look like the Gou'ald have been to this planet recently. As you can see from the probe it looks like there is a homestead near the gate. There are no other signs of civilization near by."
"Okay then campers lets give this mission a go and gate out this afternoon." Jack dismissed the team to prepare for the mission. Sam and Teal'c filed out of the room leaving Daniel alone with Jack.
"You sure you're okay Jack?"
"Yeah Daniel. Go on get ready for this mission." Jack shooed the anthropologist out of the room hurriedly. Jack closed the door and leaned against it finally letting the impressions and visions from the Ancients knowledge base flash through his mind. The images came and went through his mind faster than he could travel with a Stargate. 'This has got to be a side effect of the Ancients knowledge. It'll stop eventually. If I don't go insane first.' Jack squeezed shut his eyes as his head started pounding viciously. 'If it keeps going I'll have to tell the team. They aren't gonna like that I kept this from them.' As the painful throbbing in his head ended Jack headed out to get his pack for the trip through the gate.
In the Gate room SG1 stood ready with the rover 'Fred' and waited for the okay for departure. With the okay given the team began to go through the gate. On the other side they found themselves in a large meadow. Jack looked over at the house and nudged Daniel. "Lets go introduce ourselves to the locals."

"Well, Master this turned out better than I expected. There might just be some hope for my culinary abilities after all." Obi-Wan said as he took another bite of the jam covered bread he had made with his Master's assistance.
"Cooking is an exercise in your weakest area, Obi-Wan, patience."
Obi-Wan laughed, "Well, I just hope that I never have to fend for myself other wise I'd starve."
The joking of the day ended suddenly as the ground began to vibrate once more. The Jedi looked at each other as they made their way to the veranda of the house. "Someone will come through this time Obi-Wan."
"I am ready Master."
The Jedi watched as four humanoids walked through the ring one of the beings carried a staff like the one in the vision. "Master, the dark skinned one. He carries that staff weapon like in the vision."
"Yes, Padawan however he does not wear the armor of that scorpion woman, and I sense no hostility from any of them. They are curious but that is about all I can sense from here. Let us go and greet them. Four people are hardly an invasion force."
Each party seemed to get the same idea about introducing themselves and they met midway between the Stargate and the house. Daniel began his 'meeting the natives for the first time' lines, first in English then down the list of the many languages that he knew, when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's expressions were puzzled his little speech of peace and goodwill.
"No, we understood you the first time." Qui-Gon said before Daniel could repeat the speech. "It's just that you surprised us. We never expected that people would come through that ring."
//Speak for yourself, Master.// Obi-Wan sent through their link.
//Padawan,// the elder Jedi sent back warningly.
